It was Teacher Appreciation Night, and we were at the game signing books and greeting Saints fans! All book sale proceeds that evening were donated to ServeMinnesota—an incredible organization that strengthens communities across our state through high-impact AmeriCorps programs. Their mission is close to my heart—I got my start in public service as a VISTA volunteer with Catholic Charities back in 1989, where I worked with those living at the Saint Anthony Residence. That’s where I first heard the incredible true story that inspired A Season on the Drink.
